Timothy “Tim” Kreigh Walter
TOPEKA and formerly of Beloit – Timothy “Tim” Kreigh Walter was born on October 10th,1951in Beloit, Kansas, the son of Leo E. and Margaret A. Remus Walter. He died on February 1st, 2024 in Topeka, KS after a courageous battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia at the age of 72 years.
Tim, as he was known, grew up in Cawker City, attending St. Theresa’s before graduating from Cawker City High School in 1969. He went on to attend Central College in Wichita, KS followed by a year at Fort Hays State University before moving back to Cawker. In 1970, he met the love of his life Patience Ann Dreibelbis when she asked for a ride in his car because she really liked his 1970 Dodge Challenger. On March 13, 1971 at St. Peter and Paul Church in Cawker City they were united in marriage. From this union,Tim and Patience were blessed with 5 wonderful daughters.
Tim farmed with his Dad and brother Doug most of his life and lived outside of Tipton, KS until the early 90s when they decided to move to Beloit. Tim worked for Carrico Implement in the Lawn & Garden department for many years, Salina Motorsports and retired from Heritage Tractor in Topeka. KS. Tim was a member and past Grand Knight of the Tipton Knights of Columbus council and also a member and Faithful Navigator for the Robert F Kennedy 4th degree assembly. He also served on the school board for Waconda USD 272 & NCK Vo-Tech school of Beloit, KS. In 2006 they moved to Topeka, KS. In 2011 Tim fought colon cancer and won and because of this became a volunteer for the Cancer Center at St Francis Hospital in Topeka after he retired. He also took pride in spending time with his grandkids and going to their many sporting events, attending local events in Topeka with his wife and daughters, and spending time traveling with Patience. Theyfrequentlywent to Hawaii and had some of the best trips with his sisters-inlaw and brothers-in-law. Tim was an avid Kansas Jayhawk, Kansas City Chiefs, and Washburn University fan attending as many games as he could. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and collecting coins. Later in life he enjoyed having convertibles for the many road trips he and Patience went on around the country.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his mother and father-in-law Wanda and Neal Dreibelbis, brothers Doug & Kip, grandson Jordan Boyles and nephew Carl Cox. Tim is survived by his wife, Patience of Topeka, daughter Stacey and Rick Scott of Concordia, Margaret Boyles (Kennedy & Jacob) of Topeka, Heather and Jeff Germann (Brandon & Emma, Brooke & Josh Haden) of Morganville, Tiffany and Brad Noller (Parker, Jackson, Houston) of Topeka, and Whitney and Robert Kinyua (Sophia, Logan, Gabriella) of Mount Dora, Florida. He is also survived by a sister-inlaw Jeanie Walter of Cawker City, sisters-in-law Linda (Roland) Woods of Salt Lake City, Utah, Pene (Harvey) Cox of Beloit, Lora (BJ) Dreibelbis of Salt Lake City, Utah, brothers-in-law Ted (Shawn) Dreibelbis ofKenewick, Washington, and Tim Dreibelbis of Beloit, 12 nieces and nephews, 11 grandchildren, 1 greatgrandchild (Paige Haden) and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 11 AM Saturday, February 10 at the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Cawker City. Visitation will be from 9 AM to 4 PM with family present from 2-4 PM on Friday at the Roberts Family Funeral Home in Beloit, and a rosary service will be at 7 PM Friday at the Church.
