NWS issues Hazardous Weather Outlook
The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for today (Wednesday), for Phillips, Smith, Jewell, Rooks, Osborne, and Mitchell counties, as Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories are in effect. Wind gusts of around 30 mph are likely through Thursday with a snow accumulation of 1-2 inches and ice accumulation being the biggest concern, as this mornings rain is forecast to turn into freezing rain before 2 p.m. There is a 20 percent chance of snow again on Friday and a 30 percent chance on Saturday with temperatures in the high 30’s.
