Francis Eugene Krier, 73, Beloit, formerly Tipton

BELOIT, formerly Tipton – Francis Eugene Krier, 73, departed this life September 15th, 2023, at Mitchell County Hospital. He was born on May 12th, 1950, in Beloit KS to Lawrence and Caroline (Schmitt) Krier. Francis was raised on the family farm North of Tipton until the family moved into town in the early 60's. Francis graduated from Tipton High school in 1969 and furthered his education at Beloit Vo-Tech. Francis was employed for over 40 years as a Welder at Kent Manufacturing until he retired. He also served in the Army National Guard.

Phyllis Struble, 100, Glaseo

GLASCO – To remember the life of Phyllis Struble, lifelong Glasco resident who died on August 19 at the age of 100 years, a visitation will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023, at Hodge Podge from 7:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Have a cup of coffee and a doughnut and share memories of Phyllis, who worked as a 'soda jerk' in the Struble Pharmacy, the family business, during her high school years and who enjoyed many mornings with a cup of coffee at the Hodge Podge.

BELOIT – Harold Neil Prather, a beloved brother, uncle, and friend, peacefully passed away on September 11, 2023. Born on August 29, 1939, in Beloit, Harold led a life full of wisdom, and hard work. He was a man who was not only wise but also incredibly handy, possessing the ability to cultivate and nurture both the land and the relationships around him.

Patrick Moody Smith BELOIT - Patrick Moody Smith was born the eighth of nine children to Charles and Marie Ellis Smith on February 19,1939, in Boise, Idaho, He departed this life on August 31, 2023, at his home in Beloit, Kansas surrounded by family, at the age of 84, Pat lived in various Kansas towns during his childhood, He moved to Hsbon, Kansas in 1955 to make his home with his sister and family, Mary Lou and Raymond Griffith, He graduated from Esbon High School in 1958. Pat joined the US Army after graduation and was a member of the 101st Airborne Division, stationed at Ft, Campbell, Kentucky, He was united in marriage to LaNeta Ilollern on June 25, I960, To this union were born six children; Patrick, Shannon, Sharia, Darren, Todd and Shelly, Pat graduated from Pittsburg State College in 1971, He worked for several years with students with disabilities, first at Lakemary Center in Paola, Kansas, and later at MJL in Beloit, Kansas, In 1980, Pat began driving for Dahlsten Truck Line of Clay Center, Nebraska.
