DOWNS – Leon Earl Kuhn, 70, of Downs, Kansas, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 24, 2022 at his home. Leon was born January 4, 1952 to Remigius and Roberta Kuhn in Russell Kansas. Leon grew up and attended school in Hays, Kansas. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Leon received his associate degree from Barton County Community College. He worked in the oilfield for more than 30 years. Leon enjoyed golfing, fishing and riding his Harley.

HUNTER – Doris Marie (Moore) Gallion was born on August 9, 1930 in Hunter, Kansas to Forrest and Beulah (Baird) Moore of Hunter, Kansas. She departed this life peacefully on Saturday, July 16 at Pinnacle Park in Salina, Kansas at the age of 91 years.

Skylor Brummer, 35, Lawrence, formerly of Beloit

LAWRENCE – Funeral Services for Skylor Brummer, age 35 of Lawrence & formerly of Beloit, will be at 10 AM Monday, July 25 at the Roberts Family Funeral Home in Beloit. Mr. Brummer died Saturday, July 16 in Lenexa due to a motorcycle accident. Survivors include his parents, Dan & Rhonda Brummer of Asherville; brothers, Seth of Junction City & Michael of Denton, TX; sister, Emily of Overland Park; grandparents, Gerald & Pauline Brummer of Beloit, & Norma Cox of Eufaula, OK. Visitation will be from 1-7 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Ronald McDonald House or Toys for Tots. Roberts Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Vivian Sackhoff, 86, Wichita

WICHITA – Funeral Services for Vivian Sackhoff, age 86 of Wichita & formerly of Hunter, will be at 10:30 AM Saturday, July 23 at the Grace Chapel United Methodist Church in Hunter. Mrs. Sackhoff died Saturday, July 16 at the Superior Health & Rehab Center in Conway, Arkansas. Survivors include children, Richard of Wichita, Tamara McMillan of Conway, AR, Jeff of Conway, AR, & Debra McLay of Topeka; 7 grandchildren; 4 greatgrandchildren; & 4 foster great-grandchildren. There will be no visitation, & the casket will remain closed. Memorials may be given to the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance. Roberts Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Sister Charlotte Lutgen, 94, Concordia

CONCORDIA – Sister Charlotte Lutgen died July 15, 2022, at Nazareth Motherhouse in Concordia, Kansas. She was 94 years old and a Sister of St. Joseph for 74 years. She was born in rural Tipton, Kansas, on Nov. 26, 1927, to Charles and Elizabeth Koenigsman Lutgen, the oldest of seven children, and was baptized Geraldine. She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Concordia on Feb. 2, 1948.
