BELOIT JR TROJANS UNDEFEATED AFTER TEO SEASON WINS
BELOIT –The Beloit junior high Trojans opened their football season hosting Minneapolis for a 36-14 win.
Benson Berndt opened the game with a 30 yard scoring run at the 5:35 mark in the first quarter. He punched in the extra point for the 8-0 lead.
Minneapolis answered with a two yard running touchdown and the PAT to tie up the game at 8-8 with 1:43 remaining.
The Lions took over the 14-8 lead with an 11 yard run at the 1:47 mark in the second quarter.
Wyatt Broeckelman scored for Beloit on a 30 yard run with .20 remaining in the first half to tie up the game at 14-14.
Both teams were held scoreless in the third quarter.
Berndt scored on a long 47 yard touchdown run at the 6:51 mark in the fourth quarter. Broeckelman punched in the extra point for the Beloit 22-14 lead.
Berndt scored at the 5:05 mark on a 22 yard run to extend Beloit’s lead 28-14. He scored his fourth and final touchdown with 2:14 remaining before throwing to Kyan Offutt for the extra point and the Trojans 36-14 win.
Leading Beloit on defense was Grady Seyfert 8 tackles; Branson Hiserote and Kyan Offutt 6 each; Benson Berndt 5; Jerek Rexroat and Brody Widrig 4 apiece; Wesley Adolph, Wyatt Broeckelman 3 each; Abe Staples and Maddox Waters 2 each; Ethan Anderson, Tyler Harmon and Grant Ingram 1 apiece.
The B-team Trojans defeated Minneapolis 24-0 in a fifth quarter game.
Jerek Rexroat opened with a 40 yard touchdown at the 24:20 mark and Noah Gerstner punched in the extra point for the 8-0 lead. Rexroat scored again on a 5 yard run at the 11:09 mark and Quinn Eilert scored on the extra point conversion for the 16-0 lead. Talon Boeve scored on an 11 yard run with 3:08 remaining and Rexroat scored the PAT for the 24-0 win.
Leading Beloit on defense was Jerek Rexroat and Parker Isbell with 3 tackles followed by Talon Boeve, Noah Gerstner 2 tackles each; Quinn Eilert and Christian Mears 1 tackle each.
The Beloit varsity are now 2-0 after their win over Ellsworth, 14-0, on Thursday.
Wyatt Broeckelman opened with a 3 yard run touchdown at the 5:05 mark in the first quarter and Benson Berndt followed with the PAT for the 8-0 lead.
Berndt scored on a 32 yard touchdown at the 2:36 mark and Broeckleman made good on the extra point conversion for the 16-0 lead.
With just .22 seconds remaining, Berndt scored on a 26 yard run. Kyan Offutt passed to Branson Hiserote for the PAT to extend Beloit’s lead, 24-0.
Berndt scored on a 47 yard run at the 4:02 mark in the second quarter. Broeckelman added the PAT for the 32-0 lead.
Broeckelman scored on a 25 yard run at the 1:24 mark and Berndt added the extra point conversion for the 40-0 lead.
Broeckelman scored his third touchdown on a 28 yard run with 1:05 remaining in the game and Beloit defeated Minneapolis in a shut out game, 46-0.

Harmon also held an interception for a 25 yard return.
Beloit B-team defeated the Lions 14-0.
Noah Gerstner opened with a 30 yard running touchdown at the 22:24 mark in the fifth quarter game. Rexroat made good on the PAT for Beloit’s 8-0 lead.
Talon Boeve scored on a 30 yard run as the last score with 13:45 remaining as the Trojans won the game, 14-0.
Leading on defense was Austin Rice 5 tackles; Noah Gertsner 3; Talon Boeve and Brodie Schroeder 2 each; Kyler Burks, Keegan Hayden and Jerek Rexroat 1 apiece. Schroeder also held an interception.
Beloit’s will now host Sacred Heart in Beloit with a 5 p.m. kick-off.
