Transient Guest Tax percentage raised

Only one item was on Tuesday’ s Mitchell County Commissioners meeting, being the Transient Guest Tax otherwise known as the Bed Tax. Kent Miller, Janet Remus, and Lucille Heller represented the Mitchell County Tourism group. Miller said, “ We would like to request an increase in the Transient Guest Tax from two percent to four percent. I have done some checking and Mitchell County has by far the lowest precent rate in our area.”

First Kansas facility of its kind!

Tours were given on Thursday as the City of Beloit Solar Farm was providing upwards of 20 percent of the town’s power supply at that time of their Grand Opening. The 2.0 megawatts tracking facility is the first of its kind owned by a municipal electric utility in the state of Kansas. NCK Home Health services terminated

BELOIT – The Mitchell County Commissioners and the Mitchell County Health Department Administrator underwent an extensive multi-year review of the home health services provided by the North Central Kansas Home Health Agency (NCK Home Health) and the Mitchell County Health Department (MCHD). After completion of the review, it was determined by the Mitchell County Commissioners that the NCK Home Health Agency will be voluntarily terminating its home health license effective Sept. 30, 2022.
