Waking up to no wind, a sunny sky, roaming animals and flying birds on Thursday morning was a welcoming sight and felt like Wednesday’ s event was just a nightmare.
Four Bar S, Inc. of Hutchinson has been spreading manure from Limestone Feeders of Beloit during the last few weeks as farmers prepare their fields. IT will hit the fan today when the wind gusts are forecast to blow 65-75 mph in Mitchell county and surrounding areas. Four Bar S is equipped with spreader trucks, high loaders and Bobcat track machines to support the custom pen cleaning and manure spreading business that extends from north central Oklahoma through north central Kansas. In addition they offer support equipment such as tractor and speed mover, a scraper, dump trucks and semi with a dump trailer. MITCHELL COUNTY – The Solomon Valley Community Foundation (SVCF) has announced yet another successful November Match Month campaign. As a result of generous donors throughout Mitchell County, a total of $81,803 was raised, making this year’s campaign the most successful to date. Factoring in the match from the Dane G Hansen Foundation, this year’s grand total comes in at just over $156,000!
Stewart Porter, County Engineer, was present during Monday’s Mitchell County Commissioners meeting, to inform them that he was delaying the bid opening for the bids on the new public works shop building. It has become evident to Porter that the initial bid opening deadline was too ambitious, and that time period did not allow vendors a chance to calculate bids. Porter announced that the new bid opening will take place on Jan. 10 at 2 p.m.
The North Central Kansas Technical College Nursing Department give back by delivering groceries to the Mitchell County Food on Thursday, during the holiday season gift of giving.
