The St. John’s/Tipton Lady Jays earned the 2021-22 Sub State Championship title and are State-bound on Thursday for the Class 1A DII Girls State finals in Great Bend. MINNEAPOLIS -- The Beloit Lady Trojans lost to the Southeast of Saline Lady Trojans, 40-27, Friday night, in the sub-state semifinals.
The St. John’ s/Tipton girls basketball team took on Pike Valley in the sub-state semifinal game at the Beloit High School gymnasium. Pike Valley came in with a 6-14 record overall with a 2-2 record against the NPL teams. In their previous meeting they defeated Pike Valley 53-32 at home. This game was nearly the same outcome as the first. The Lady Jays had a hot start in the first quarter which allowed the Lady Jays to cruise to a 58-22 victory and a punched ticket to the final round to face Logan/Palco for the sub-state championship.
