The Beloit 8th Grade KSHAA Citizenship Winners are from left to right: Charlie Burke and Autumn Lorenz. The recipients of this award were selected by junior high teachers based on their character shown in the classroom and also at school sponsored events. The award reads: for excellence as an exemplary young citizen who has demonstrated a marked respect for country, assumed responsibility for improving school and community and has shown reverence for life, displayed through their tenure at BJSHS.
BELOIT — The Solomon Valley Community Foundation has awarded scholarships to area students for the upcoming academic year. This includes one scholarship that is being renewed for recipients from previous years.
MITCHELL COUNTY – Last October Solomon Valley Community Foundation (SVCF) launched a brand new initiative called Dream Big. Setting aside money from their own Community Impact Fund, and partnering with Solomon Valley Economic Development, SVCF was able to come up with $50,000 to award to a project that created significant economic and community impact.
OSBORNE – Dogs make great pets, companions, and 4-H projects. Kelli Burrus, Post Rock District 4-H Dog Project Leader, volunteers to teach dog care and training because she thrives on seeing youth find success.
