St. John’ s/Tipton now 11-2 on the season

KENSINGTON – The St. John’ s/Tipton Lady Jays are now 11-2 overall on the season, 7-1 in District play after adding one win against Pike Valley and a loss to Thunder Ridge on Sept. 13, 2022. They will now compete in Mankato on Sept. 20 against Rock Hills and Lakeside. The Lady Jays were defeated by Thunder Ridge in three sets of 25-19, 17-25 and 13-25. Ella Wiles led the team at the net with 9 kills, 3 blocks; Carlie Brummer 6 kills, 1 block; Lynelle Gengler 4 kills, 2 blocks; Jenna Gengler 3 kills, 1 block; Lauren Ellenz 1 kill.

Beloit ladies compete in SES tournament

GYPSUM – The Beloit High school Ladies competed in Gypsum on Sept. 10 in the Southeast of Saline tournament and went 3-2 on the day playing ranked teams. Beloit is now 113 on the season and will play in the Republic County tournament on Sept. 17. Beloit won over Smoky Valley (ranked 10th in 3A) in game one, in three sets of 2325; 25-20 and 25-19 for the win. Leading Beloit at the net was Addison Budke with 23 kills, 2 blocks; Mylie Brown 11 kills; Dakota Gray 5 kills; Jaidyn Follis 3 kills; Brecken Boudreaux 2 kills, 1 block; Cassandra Thompson 1 kill, 2 blocks. Brown led the team from behind the line scoring 11 points with 4 ace serves; Allison Schroeder 11 points, 1 ace; Boudreaux 7 points, 2 ace; Budke 6 points, 1 ace; Kailyn Follis 5 points, 1 ace. Jaidyn Follis led on setting up the plays with 34 assists. Leading the floor was Budke with 16 digs, 10 serve receives; Brown 13 digs, 9 receives; Kailyn Follis 11 digs, 30 receives; Jaidyn Follis 9 digs; Peyton Remus 7 digs, 7 receives; Boudreaux 3 digs; Schroeder 1 dig; Thompson 1 dig In game two, Beloit won over Southeast of Saline in two sets of 25-11 and 25-16.
