Meadowlarks are basking in the sun singing one minute and taking cover from cold weather the next as springtime is in question. After 80 plus degrees last week, cooler temperatures are in the forecast next week with temperatures in the upper 50’s during the day with night time 30’s. High winds will return for today (Friday) with wind gusts as high as 30 mph and a 40 percent chance of rain possible. Another 30 percent chance extends into Saturday with sunny skies on Sunday. Water pipeline discussions continue

Beloit City Manager Jason Rabe reported during Wednesday's City Council meeting, that vertical boring test holes are being drilled along the proposed water pipeline right of way all the way to the lake from Beloit. He reported that no surprises have been noted and that City Attorney Katie Schroeder, will begin working on the easements for the pipeline.

KNHAP to establish National Heritage area

KANSAS – The Kansas Nebraska Heritage Area Partnership (KNHAP), a diverse, bi-state partnership of cultural, historical, economic development and tourism organizations and individuals, has formed in hopes of establishing a National Heritage Area within 49 counties between North Central Kansas and South Central Nebraska. The mission of the Kansas Nebraska Heritage Area Partnership is to connect communities and attractions, instill pride of place, and promote immersive experiences for residents and visitors to enhance appreciation for the region’s unique landscape and nationally significant cultural history.
