MITCHELL COUNTY – The Mitchell County Strong organization has launched a brand new initiative as “ Murals of Mitchell County” officially went live on April 18, with the goal of having at least one mural in each of our the cities by the end of 2022.
It is that time of year again… prom season! With the weather changing and the school year coming to an end, many students are buzzing about the upcoming prom. Prom means something a little different for everyone. For some, it is a night to spend dancing with their friends. For others, it is a special occasion for them and their significant other. No matter the significance, many Beloit High School students have been preparing for prom for months. Luckily, however, senior English teacher, Gary Pingel, says that the excitement has “not affected his classroom other than to have a few laughs at some little bits of drama about what to wear and who is going with who.”
At the April USD #273 school board meeting Monday night, the board discussed various issues as it handled a full agenda.
The Mitchell County Commissioners meeting began with a 15 minute executive session with Yvonne Melton, the County Treasurer, to discuss non-elected personnel. No decisions were made as a result of that closed session.
BELOIT – The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Phillips, Smith, Jewell, Rooks, Osborne and Mitchell counties and portions of south central Nebraska for today (Wednesday) through Saturday.
